Self-confidence
Schools and colleges have become more particular in education, analyzing secondary school records, yet others support extracurricular activities. This review analyzed the connections among students' academic performances, assumptions, inspirations, and self-assurance throughout a mid-year direction at a huge south-eastern college. The impacts of parental instruction levels on understudies' exhibitions were likewise contemplated. Critical positive relationships were found among all factors. These factors were likewise indicators of students’ academic performances.
Self-confidence means believing in yourself and having a firm belief that what you can do no one can do. Self-confidence is a discipline that suggests that when you start doing something and have a belief and motive you can do it. So, the question is where do we need self-confidence? Is there any need for self-confidence before doing something? No, not at all.
Self-confidence is related to your life. Everybody has a different physique and a different set of thinking patterns. Everyone has his perspective and a lens to see the world. If you are standing in front of a class, you can see a whole number of students sitting or standing. But if you ask students what you see they will answer that they can see a whiteboard and a teacher standing. So, to say, the perspectives are different, the same here is the case with self-confidence.
Some people believe that they can earn money more and more. Some people say that they can work more and more. Some people say, they can study more. Also, some say that they can learn more. All have belief in themselves that they can do something. There is a different sort of self-confidence that one has. Self-confidence begins from daily routine too. Like you believe that you can walk two hours daily to make yourself fit. On the other hand, you have a belief that you can eat a little bit to remain fit. So there are different types of self-confidence from little to big. The motive here is that one must have self-confidence.
How you can achieve self-confidence?
Self-confidence does not mean that people around you admire you but it suggests that you should acknowledge that if you are alone and neither
no one is around you nor anyone admires or praises you, you are confident.
Following are some steps that can be followed to achieve self-confidence:
- Believe in yourself
Believing in yourself has a huge impact on your life. The
initial idea of starting something begins with yourself. When you start
something you ask yourself whether you can do it or not. You start any sort of
task if your heart and mind are ready to do that. So you should believe
that you can do this and no one can do this. You should have a firm belief in
yourself. As in Allama Iqbal's poetry, the concept of ‘self’ is the theme and the idea
that your ‘self’ is very important.
- Three cycles of life
Three cycles of life always are interlinked
and interconnected with one single point which is your ‘self’. This idea would
be cleared with an example. When you are in school it is asked to tell
something about yourself. Also when you are in your college you are asked to
introduce yourself. The same is the case
with university and also when you start your career. You get an opportunity
only based on two to three pages of your CV. So it can be said that the self
is very much important.
Three cycles of life are related to self that
are your past, your present, and your future. If for example you are born poor, you don't need to die poor. Your past is simply a path to follow good strategies that you used and a guideline for bad happenings
that you have to never repeat them. Your present is where you are living.
It may be good or bad but it is happening to you. Your future is your hope and
your reward for the hard work that you are doing at present. You cannot change
your past and present but you can change your future through hard work. So, you should
believe that you can achieve anything with the help of your self-confidence.
- Do Critical thinking
Critical thinking means thinking about what is right and what
is wrong. So before you start anything you should ask yourself in keeping given your family, your friends, and your society whether it will be good for you or bad for
you. It is the ability to think clearly by paying special attention to logical connections
between several ideas.
- Dream big
It is not so that dreaming big means becoming the president of
your country rather dreaming big means hoping for the best. It can be done by thinking
that what you think about your future can be possible. For example, if you want to
become a teacher just think of yourself as delivering lectures standing on the dice.
- Dream about the future but live-in present
Dreaming big does not mean that you forget your motive rather dream
for the best but hard work also for the best so that your fruit will be waiting
for you.
- Overcoming fears
If you want to achieve self-confidence you should have to overcome
your fears by thinking that if you have no friends it is okay. If you have to spend the whole day alone it is also okay. Also, think that there is nothing impossible
in this world. Nothing is impossible in this world but everything is impossible
in your mind. If you fear all the time you can do nothing. If your mind overcomes fears everything is possible and good for you.
- Do not blame life
If any bad happening occurs do not blame your life. Rather improve
yourself by not repeating those mistakes you have done in past. For example, if you get low grades in your exams do not say that you have a bad fate or bad luck
rather critically think that how many hours you have studied and how many hours
you have wasted your time. So at any point in life do not blame your fate and
your life rather try to better your life and also the fate
- Be your strength not your weakness
Some people are their enemies. They do not start any task
just because of their hopes and fears decided on their own. They become naysayers
of their own. In the initial stage of everything, there are hopes and fears attached. For example, when you walk alone at night outside the room you think that
someone is walking behind you. This is the fear that sometimes you cannot go out.
This is the beginning of fear. After that, you start fearing going out of home
alone. Remember you have to walk alone everywhere and nothing will be with you.
So being alone should not be fear rather it should be hope for your future that
after these hurdles your future will be bright.
- Choose your aim
You must have an aim in your life. The aim is a goal that people
set to achieve after some time. Some people aim to get married, become doctors, do a good job, or study more and more. The aim gives you self-confidence. You
do things according to your aim. So before doing anything just think about your
aim which means what to do in the future and just wait for rewards.
- Do not live in the past
If your past was good do not believe that time will remain the same.
Rather believe that there is a night after a very little bright-full day. If your
past was bad believe that there will be a bright sun after darkness. So if your
past was a good walk in the same way you have followed in the past. But if you have a bad past just do remember not to repeat those mistakes you have made and so forth.
Therefore to say, just remember your past but not live in your past.
Conclusion
To conclude it can be said that being alone has nothing to do with your aims and dreams rather being alone makes you strong. So, focus on your dreams and pay special attention to yourself. If you respect yourself everyone will respect you. If you do not pay attention to yourself, no one would pay attention to you. So keep focus and follow the discussed methods to achieve self-confidence.
